This is actually a pretty good book. Very clear text, lots of useful figures, examples and exercises. I was pleasantly surprised by its high quality. If the author could only write a similar text on linear algebra!

Hi Blaise!

There's a HTML version with images at:

http://www.gutenberg.org/files/18900/18900-h/18900-h.htm

There's also a ZIP file (7.5 mb) which I believe contains this HTML file, and a folder with all the images:

http://www.gutenberg.org/files/18900/18900-h.zip

I hope this is helpful!

I don't understand. Project Gutenburg only stores .txt files containing only the text of the material. It's impossible to see any of the images referenced in the book and any diagrams or visuals mentioned are functionless. Is there a version that contains images?

Thanks for this! I've updated the links and they should all work now! I guess this goes to show why having a repository of the textbooks is so important!

I suggest listing my Java programming textbook, which is
published under a Creative Commons license. It's available in
an on-line version at http://math.hws.edu/javanotes/ and as a
PDF through a link at the bottom of that page. There is also
an open textbook on theoretical computer science, available
as PDF only, at http://math.hws.edu/FoundationsOfComputation/
