As of November 2009, Algot Runeman [email] has been selected as editor of the Open Text Book Registry. The registry is actively seeking textbooks for inclusion. Please leave comments to point us in the right direction or use the above email link. The registry is a participatory site. The authors of open textbooks may contact us, but we need the help of all of you out there to help gather the ones we don’t know about.
Algot Runeman has a Masters of Education in School Administration and is a retired science teacher at the junior high/middle school level who also taught computer skills and became the school district’s computer coordinator. In addition to school teaching, he was a summer camp director for the Massachusetts Audubon Society and taught computer skills at community education programs. He served as secretary of the Massachusetts Computer Using Educators (MassCUE) for 20 years, librarian of the MassCUE freeware/shareware library, and now is the facilitator for the organization’s open source software special interest group.
